Game Review: Unstoppable Gorg

posted by admin in Uncategorized

The more popular video games these days, that you see advertise on pop up displays and banner ads, have certain things in common, they tend to be fun to play and they have good music and a unique visual design which sees them above the others. This is what the game Unstoppable Gorg brings to the table with its musty, from the ‘50’s sci fi scenes and graphics. The fact that you know what will be up next won’t take away from the beauty of the game.

Ridge Racer 3D – A Review

posted by admin in Uncategorized

The game is a continuation so to say of Ridge Racer 7 and one can easily make out that it belongs to the series in the true and complete sense. The races however are fast, the experiences twitchy and the circuit has been very well designed, added with visuals too, all of which make the game an interesting one. The game has the arcade style handling, with a wide background akin to pop up stands, which has the player spending quite a lot of time careering around the track sideways or skidding corners. This gives the game an unrealistic touch.

Why The Regency Chess Company & Nintendo Entertainment Have A Lot In Common

posted by admin in Uncategorized

Chess and computer games actually have more in common then people think. Before the days of Mario, Zelda, Sonic et al, chess was the game of choice for players everywhere. Electronic chess made a small but significant entry into the video game market early in the 1980s, but it proves a testament to the lasting nature of the sport that chess is still very much a thriving entity whereas many computer games have long since gone to the great cartridge in the sky.

Warlock of firetop Mountain R4 DS Download Review

posted by admin in Uncategorized

The Warlock of firetop mountain is an amazing book. A classic in fact. Written by Steve Jackson of Steve Jackson games (http://www.sjgames.com) years ago if was one of the seminal fighting fantasy books of it’s time - infact THE fighting fantasy book of its time.
So when I heard that not only were they going to produce a nintendo DS game version of it I was excited. When I realised that it had already been released I immediately jumped onto my computer to down load it to my R4 card so I could play it straight away.

So having made it to firetop mountain (aka having downloaded the game and transferred it onto my R4 card) I started playing the game. Now at first I have to say it was great! I loved it! It had all the elements that the book had that I enjoyed so much. The weapons, customability, level ups… and most of all - the orks! My god how I missed the Orks - I really felt that they had done their best to stay true to the game-book and really include all the original elements that were so fantastical.

So ready here comes the let down…. the game sucks! I mean it is really addictive to begin with. All the great things about the original game come rushing back to me, the creatures, the warlock, the chests - and good god I really want to make it through the maze to meet the fabled dragon from the story…

.. however the game just sucks. It is too difficult when you are playing an archer for starters. It has gotten to the point where I just die all the time. Death has little backlash, so it doesn’t matter. Monsters re-spawn all the the time, so you do a really hard fight and feel great, only to pop back into the room a few minutes later to find the bad guys are back and this time you have no fire ball scrolls to help you defeat the bad guy!

I the end I just gave up. I was so glad I didn’t pay for it. Usually I feel a little guilt over doing downloads to the R4i card as it does screw the makers over, and sometimes I even pay for the game afterwards if the game was really good. But this time I felt nothing at all. The game sucked, and I was really glad that Steve did not get my money.

If you are thinking of buying this game - don’t. Download it to your R4 card first, realise it sucks, then buy it as a birthday present for that cousin that you hate but still have to go to his birthday party.

So that is the warlock of firetop mountain download review. I wish it were better news, but sometimes the truth is just the truth and there is no getting away from it.

Review: Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions

Who remembers the good old days when you would go to the local arcade, put in a quarter and play Pac-Man or Galaga? These two games have survived over all these years and still seem as beloved as ever. In Pac-Man & Galaga Dimenstions, they have gone 3D and added four other games to play as well.

Let’s start with Pac-Man Tilt. This is still the same old Pac Man with a tilting board courtesy of your 3DS. It’s not More

Sharing Boss Battles

Many gamers complain about the lack of truly memorable boss encounters in the more open play style of game that permeates the markets, but there are still some crackers to be found out there.

Some of the most memorable boss encounters can be found in games such as ‘Okami'on the Wii, ‘Castlevania: Lord of Shadows'on the Xbox 360, and ‘Dead Space 2'across both Xbox and PS3. In fact some of the most berserk boss encounters in the past decade can More

I work for an it support company and I am always getting calls about faulty game systems from frantic customers who were clearly in the middle of bashing the boss! One of the more recent calls was for help with a fault on the SEGA master system, and here was me thinking that everyone has a PS3 or Xbox now. It was this call that made me start reminiscing about the good old days, remembering all the time spent on More
